Should you Dress to Impress

The way you present yourself says a lot about who you are, and how you would like to be seen so maybe girls you should dress to impress.

Do you dress to impress?

Okay, so you may not have any idea of what I'm talking about. Nevertheless, this question is rather valid in this day and age. Have you ever thought about that before? I'm not sure if many people do. I can still remember growing up, and how I never cared if my clothes looked old or dirty.

Why should I have?

Many of us typically don't worry about dressing all spiffy. However, as you grow up, things start to change. Actually the rules or code starts to change. You have to evolve with the demands of becoming an adult. People start to expect things. Whether you like it or not, is irrelevant half of the time. It's about being mature.

It wasn't until I went on my very first job interview that I actually knew to dress to impress. Okay, so my mother informed me, but the point is I did it. It was a laid-back interview with the manager of the local Blockbuster Video. I had this thing in the bag. I dressed in slacks and a button down shirt, and answered all questions with proper grammar and a confident tone. They hired me on the spot. I'm not sure if it was due to what I said, or my "dress to impress" attire. Regardless, I did get the job I was after. Even though I quit a few weeks down the road, it's the thought that counts.

These days I still dress to impress when the occasion arises. Whether it be a special family occasion or something work-related, I like to look my best at all times. Heck, I even dress to impress when I'm out car shopping. This definitely gets me more attention from the salesman. They always look to see how you present yourself. They actually think it determines your income.

While I don't think the two are related, I do know that the way you dress makes a massive difference. In fact, I can even remember one particular occasion when an applicant wasn't hired at the place I worked, due to his casual attire. It was bizarre because immediately after he left the building, my manager trashed his application and said, "He didn't even bother to dress nice, so I won't bother either." That's a tad cold, but it is reality.

I suggest you pick up a book called " Dressing for Success".  That's a great start and it explains everything you need to know.
